Lovely Gite in Relaxing Setting

Left on Jul 30, 2019 for a stay in Jul 2019

We stayed at Les Cinq Chenes for 2 weeks in July 2019, its a beautiful rural setting with lovely French countryside views. Patsy and Steven make you feel very welcome in their barn converted gite that has everything in it you will need to enjoy a nice stay. The kids loved playing on the swings and trampoline or just walking through the adjacent field looking for grasshoppers! The pool is gorgeous and Steven makes sure that everything is ready and the water is nice and warm for the family to use. There's also a gas BBQ provided that we used on several occasions and an outside table and chairs with shade for dining. Steven and Patsy are on hand if you have any questions or if you need any advice on where to visit. Upon their recommendation we visited Vouvant which is about a 25 minute drive away and well worth the trip. The local village, Moncoutant, is about a 5 minute drive away and has a fantastic bakery and a SuperU!

Thank you Patsy and Steven for a lovely family holiday! Best wishes, Richard, Catriona, Tristan and Ava!

Perfect Family Getaway & Great Pool

Left on Aug 27, 2019 for a stay in Aug 2019

We spent 2 weeks during August at this very nice 3 Bedroom Gite, in a great location, very quiet but close enough to all amenities - Moncoutant is only a 5 min drive away and has a large supermarket (Super U), and 2 bakers and various other shops. Patsy & Steven are very welcoming and helpful. Nice welcome hamper when we arrived including croissants, jams, milk, butter, cheese, baguette, tea, coffee, wine etc. Lots of great info in the property for days out, or simply relax in the garden and enjoy the pool. (The kids loved playing Football & Cricket in the garden and then catching grass hoppers in the meadow, in between playing in the pool)

Thanks for making us so welcome. David, Cassie, Chloe, Jake, Rita & Graham. xx

Could not rate this wonderful place highly enough

We stayed at Les Cinq Chenes this summer with our two young daughters aged 1 & 3. The accommodation was everything we hoped for and more...the photos really don’t do it justice. It was so well set up for a young family with games, a gorgeous pool, sandpit, swing, trampoline, bikes including children’s seats, cots and cutlery/plates etc, high chair...they had thought of everything. Patsy and Steven immediately made us feel at home and welcomed and were available for any queries we had but also discreet so that it felt as if you had the whole place to yourselves. There was a lovely welcome pack waiting for us and all of the bedrooms were very nicely decorated and wonderfully comfortable beds and linen. Towels were provided for the pool area and the pool itself was incredible with very comfortable recliners surrounding and where we spent most of our time. They also had a pool alarm which made us feel much safer with two little ones rushing around. The views from the garden were pretty much uninterrupted with the beautiful French countryside wrapping around the property. They have made lovely outside eating areas and bbq for you to use and relax in. It is extremely handily located next to a small town that had all the amenities you’d want, supermarket, boulangerie, charcuterie etc. We will certainly be visiting again. If you’re looking for your own slice of relaxed, rural France with a luxurious touch this is your place. Thank you Steven and Patsy for making a truly memorable family holiday which our 3 year old continues to chat about and asks when we can go back.

We will be back! Kate & Owen.

Wonderful gite with superb hosts

Left on Sep 17, 2018 for a stay in Aug 2018

We spent a week at Les Cinq Chenes at the end of August with our three little ones (aged 5, 3 and 6 months). It is a stunning gite which has been beautifully converted, with huge wedges of old granite and big oak beams left in place, but with each room modernised to create a lovely welcoming feel. We arrived to a wonderful welcome from Patsy and Steven, who had provided us with the perfect basket of local goodies so we didn't need to worry about an urgent shop (although they had also offered to pick a few things up for us as we were arriving after the supermarkets had shut). Over the course of the week, they were very happy to share recommendations and advice on the area, as well as booking us into the local restaurant. Their friendliness towards us all was a real highlight, and was what made our stay overall so relaxing and enjoyable. The gite was very well equipped for our needs, with even little toiletries provided for our use. The outside space was fantastic for little ones, with a football goal, hammocks, swings, the trampoline and of course, the pool! There were several inflatables provided, which suited our two boys as well as my husband, who all enjoyed playing in the rubber dinghy and on 'Norman' the shark. We took a few day trips within an hour's drive which were all very successful (especially Terra Botanica which I'd recommend for anyone with small children, a trip to the local working windmill with an incredible tour by Frank the miller, and a visit to Vouvant with a tower which you can borrow the key to so you can climb to the top!), and when our three are older we'll definitely stay at Les Cinq Chenes again and visit the incredible Puy du Fou, which is only 45 minutes away. All in all a really special place, not only because the gite and pool are lovely, but because you will receive a really special welcome from Patsy and Steven, and be made to feel very at home in Les Cinq Chenes.

A fantastic week at Les Cinq Chenes

 Left on 27 July – 3 August 2019

We have had a fantastic week at Les Cinq Chenes and Steven and Patsy could not have been more helpful, kind and informative. We have loved the pool, enjoyed our table tens matches, walked (especially the dog walking!), cycled, done some geo-caching and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon kayaking. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and we wish you a very hay birthday  Steven in a couple of weeks – enjoy all your celebrations.

Thank you for being so warm and welcoming

3 August – 10 August 2019

Another lovely week staying here for the second time. We loved relaxing by the pool. We would recommend O’Resto as a restaurant and had a lovely day at Indian Forest and Parc Adventure. Thank you for being so warm and welcoming. Hope Ozzie settles in well
